Code for Asia believes that coding is the next generation literacy. We equip diverse communities to create with technology by providing beginner-friendly training programmes. Using a unique, cross-disciplinary pedagogy that features elements of experiential and Problem-based Learning heavily, our programmes have been delivered for learners ranging from primary school children to youths to stay-at-home mums to seniors.

We build tech products (for ourselves and for select clients), organise hackathons and provide consultancy.

We are constantly on the lookout for developers, event organisers, assistant trainers, trainers and fellows who are passionate about using education x technology for change. The ideal Code for Asia developer is someone that is not only obsessed with code, but with making a difference in somebody else’s life through technology and education as well. You should also be an independent learner who is self-driven and highly adaptable. No two days at the same at Code for Asia…

Our culture

We are a young company that has built up work with diverse groups across different cultures, one step at a time. At Code for Asia, we are all learners and problem-solvers. People who care about the quality of an educational experience and putting humans at the centre of building future-ready economies will fit right in.

When we say flexi-work, we mean it. We are a very remote-friendly workplace, i.e. team members sometimes join in conference calls with the sounds of birds chirping outside their windows… We only require that you play by the Code for Asia rulebook and that you perform, we are not interested in 9-to-5 cubicles for any human being. That being said, when in Singapore, we work out of *SCAPE HubQuarters: 2 Orchard Link #04-01, Singapore 237978.

All positions are convertible to full-time roles, depending on performance. Chart your own growth today!

Our hiring process

Depending on the nature of the role, the hiring process could consist of a mix of the following:

  • a phone interview
  • request for video self-introductions
  • a live video interview
  • a take-home assignment
  • additional requests for information

Generally, the process for volunteering roles will be a lot more straightforward compared to full-time hires. We use these processes to learn about you as much as possible and for you to learn about us as much as possible to ensure mutual fit.

People we seek

We are looking for team players who can work well under pressure. We expect you to be autonomous and an independent self-learner as much as possible. Renewal or conversion opportunities may be offered to select, outstanding candidates.

What interns can expect

Our past interns have remarked that the web project they were on was even more challenging than their final year project; we take a lot of pride in giving our interns high challenge and high support. We expect every intern to be team players and problem solvers. Apart from work, interns will get exposed to industry events and networking opportunities as well.

Given satisfactory performance, we are usually more than happy to coach our interns on their resumes and write recommendation letters.
