  • Community Manager (Contract full-time, remote ok.) x1
    • We are looking for someone who is a fast-learning and independent self-starter. Previous event organisation, creative and technical experience will be a bonus. Relevant training will be offered to support you in your position.
    •  Location: Malaysia preferred. Remote work ok.
    •  Benefits/Compensation:
      • Competitive, pegged to your city of residence, e.g. 2000-3500 MYR (Malaysia)

    • Responsibilities:
      • Act as primary point of contact for community engagement and localised marketing strategy and execution in region — the Yangtze region in China and parts of ASEAN especially
      • Ensure smooth event execution end-to-end
      • Build and grow strong local communities via event planning, individual networking efforts, partnerships, content generation, and other user engagement and acquisition programs
      • Sustain community engagement through online and offline channels regularly, build and manage a fleet of interns, influencers, partners and volunteers
      • Lead and handle every aspect of an event from end-to-end with a team
      • Brainstorm new ideas, create and disseminate best practices in all relevant work areas with other members of the team
      • Develop and nurture local influencer partnerships
      • Create and source content to be shared across multiple platforms e.g. Facebook, Instagram, WeChat, Weibo, etc.
      • Shape creative and production briefs for local implementation
      • Play a key role in building an inclusive environment that fosters collaboration and creativity both internally and externally
      • Research and write proposals
      • Handle project reporting
      • Continuously monitor events/marketing performance and adjust to meet key goals set

  • Community Associate (Contract part-time, remote ok.) x2
    • We are looking for people to join our community team to provide an optimal event experience at our workshops, hackathons and so on. You are passionate about fostering genuine connections and developing meaningful learning opportunities for the community. You should be able to commit about 15-20 hours per week. This opening is highly suitable for people who are looking to work on flexible schedules. This is potentially convertible into a full-time position, please see above.
    •  Location: Malaysia or Singapore preferred. Remote work ok.
    •  Benefits/Compensation:
      • Competitive, depending on your experience and pegged to your city of residence, e.g. 9-12* MYR per hour (Malaysia), 8-10* SGD per hour (Singapore)
      • Bonus payout based on agreed milestones (e.g. attendance/teams/feedback) may apply

    • Responsibilities:
      • Human resources: Source, interview and brief emcee, facilitators, instructors, assistants, judges and etc. about the event
      • Logistics: Source and check possible event venues to ensure requirements are met; setup and arrange venue as needed; ensure that audiovisual projection works
      • Marketing: Create and source content to be shared across multiple platforms e.g. Facebook, Instagram, WeChat, Weibo, etc.
      • On-the-day: Ensure programme flows smoothly in conjunction with on-the-day team
      • Other tasks as necessary

        • Act as a local point-of-contact for our network of students, partners and other stakeholders
        • Provide feedback on programme agenda developed by HQ team and co-develop planning
        • Business development: Build list of possible sponsors and reach out to secure commitment
        • Reporting: ensure proper budgeting (to be approved by HQ), to spend within budget, collate receipts and reimburse any leftover amounts as necessary
